Job Description

The Loan Specialist is responsible for outside sales, credit and collections, growing the business, loan sales and documentation, task management, customer service, cashier-related activities, and meeting Operational Standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Make outside sales calls, grow the business, and report customer activities to the Branch Manager
• Communicate clearly and respectfully
• Create an effective daily routine and follow it
• Complete loan documents and relay necessary information to customers
• Accurately create written descriptions and appraise value of security in GA, LA, and SC
• Make written credit recommendations to the Branch Manager for loan amounts and terms for applications
• Complete weekly progress reports and maintain daily/weekly reports
• Participate in training program
• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with the customers
• Assist in meeting monthly loan volume, account retentions, bad debt, and delinquency standards
• Assist with calling customers that have past due accounts
• Prepare daily bank deposit, balance cash drawer each day, maintain a cash count record, and other cashier-related duties
• Keep office and desk clean and organized, as well as loan and sensitive information filed securely
• Handle office duties as needed in Manager’s absence, to include credit extension, credit and collection functions, and organization

• Good attendance and work ethic, being present and prompt on all scheduled workdays
• A pleasant, positive attitude every day, outgoing personality, and higher than average energy level
• Stable work history
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
• Acceptable credit

Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• Previous finance/credit and collections experience is preferred but not required
• Previous work experience with the public is preferred but not required
• Computer experience is beneficial
